A Christmas in red

The color red, the primary color and synonymous with passion throughout the year, abandons its mischievous streak in December to dress tradition.

It all originates from the cult of St. Nicholas from which the figure of Santa Claus was later born. But red, before Christmas decorations, has always symbolized power and royal dignity in the history of fabrics and clothing . In particular, throughout the classical world, the preciousness of purple has always been linked to the image of luxury.

Star business also has a historical link with red, think of the well-known Hollywood red carpet , which acquired an "exclusive" meaning in the 1960s . But the red carpet has older origins, in fact before being adopted on Oscar Night, it was rolled out to welcome royal or sacred personalities . It is mentioned in Aeschylus' Agamemnon , when Clytemnestra has a purple carpet laid out - a symbol of triumph - to welcome her husband, king of Mycenae, from the Trojan War.

Red also has a special value for Piacenza Cashmere , so much so that it has linked the image of the brand to a particular shade of this colour: Piacenza red . There are several garments that Lanificio Fratelli Piacenza offers to its customers in this shade, perfect items to wear during the Christmas holidays , to make the atmosphere even more magical.
